Ms. O'Brien's Advanced Spanish class got a taste of authentic Venezuelan arepas! Isis T. '25's grandmother visited the campus and taught the students how to make the delicious, masa-based treats. Students learned what makes the Venezuelan arepas different from the Colombian variety, and helped make all parts of the dish- including masa, fried plantains, beans, and fried queso- from scratch!
